Cutaneous apocrine adenocarcinoma in a goat

Apocrine neoplasms are rare in goats. This report describes an apocrine adenocarcinoma a 5-year-old female Boer goat with ulcerated, exophytic, multilobulated mass on the left dorsolateral cervical area. Histologically, dermis was effaced and expanded by poorly demarcated epithelial neoplasm desmoplasia. Neoplastic cells were arranged acini papillary projections into lumen had cuboidal or columnar, eosinophilic, occasionally vacuolated cytoplasm. Nuclei round finely stippled chromatin one nucleolus. contained periodic acid-Schiff (PAS)–positive diastase–resistant, alcian blue–positive cytoplasmic granules. There 6 mitoses 2.37 mm2 (equivalent to 10 FN22/40X fields). Histologic histochemical features current case consistent cutaneous gland adenocarcinoma.
